Researchers are unable to associate XMRV with CFS, other diseases

Researchers at Harvard Medical School reported that they found no sign of the XMRV retrovirus in 32 chronic fatigue syndrome patients, 43 HIV patients and 26 patients who had undergone organ transplants, among others.
The researchers said they used the same methods employed by the group of researchers who originally linked XMRV to CFS. Researchers at Oxford University in the U.K. also said they were not able to find the virus in 230 patients with HIV or hepatitis C.
